For many years, I’ve been excited about the mission of democratizing world class education. If you look at a lot of societal’s greatest ills, everything ranging from poverty to even extremism, or climate change, education is not a panacea. It doesn’t solve all of these problems by themselves, but I think it is an important component to moving society forward on a lot of the biggest challenges facing us today. The technology now exists for us to give a great education to almost everyone. And I feel like we have almost a moral, ethical need to make sure that work is done.
